I am the founder and first emperor of Mauryan Dynasty and today I am telling you about my life.I am a Hindu.
Early Life:
I was born into a family left destitute by the death of my father, chief of the migrant Mauryas. I was born in 340 BC in Pataliputra.
Foundation of the Maurya Empire:
I,Chandragupta Maury,with the help of Chanakya defeated Magadhan royal family where I was driven out.
Accession and Reign:
I raised an army with Chanakya after Magadhan defeat. I went to fight with Nanda and came over his army after series of battles in Patliputra. I found the Mauryan Empire at age of 20 after that.
Major Battles:
After a series of unsuccessful attempts, I defeated the forces of Nanda in 321 BC. I captured Hindu Kush, modern-day Afghanistan and Baluchistan in Pakistan in 305 BC.
Achievements:
By conquering most of the Indian subcontinent, I extended my empire from Central Asia to Burma and Himalayas to Deccan Plateau.
Ruled:
I ruled from 324BC to 180 BC and you it was a successful era.I let me spies to spy in the market and rich people's houses, my soldiers were spread all over the empire so that no crime is happening. We were very fair with people who obeyed the laws but strict who were disobeying the laws. as we were strict about the rules,we gave severe punishments. The taxes were high and the elephants and horses belonged to us. Alcohol and gambling heavily taxed and carefully supervised. Due to my security reasons, I only attended important ceremonies, my food was tasted before me and changed rooms while sleeping. My era was a good one and I gave many facilities to my people.
Chandragupta Maurya was a fair leader. This brave man died in 297 BC (aged 41-42)
